Welcome to the Class Blog for History 102 (Western Civ II).
For our first Blog post - to help you adjust to the technology - I'd like you to introduce yourself by telling the class five things about yourself. This can range from your major to your hobbies to random facts. One requirement: please do include your name!
5 Things
1.I did my graduate work at The College of William and Mary in Virginia
2.I specialize in nineteenth and twentieth century history and media studies; but, despite this, most of my teaching has been in the colonial and early national periods of American history (William and Mary sits next to Colonial Williamsburg)
3.I also have a strong interest in the way history is presented in popular films and have, in fact, taught a “History by Hollywood” seminar a number of times at The College of William and Mary and Temple University in Philadelphia.
4.I did my bachelor’s degree at the University of California at San Diego. I had a hard time picking a major so I ended up with History, and with minors in Literature and Political Science (and almost one in Third World Studies).
5.I’m a California native and I miss fish tacos in San Diego, Berkeley’s used bookstores, and the Pacific Ocean.

Hello, My name is Walter Szchur I am currently finishing up my prerequisites to hopefully enter the RN program here at SCCC. I am a Bio major. I have a 1 and a half year old son who takes up most of my free time. I have recently sold my business so that I can spend more time with my child. I decided to take western Civ 2 because I my teacher for the first half was excellent and I wound up really enjoying the class more then I anticipated, so I decided to continue with it.

hi, im Joseph DeFalco, i am nineteen years old, this is my 3rd semester at suffolk i am currently a liberal arts major. i live in holbrook ten minutes away from the school so thats great,and i love to snowboard.

I am going to finish all my liberal arts classes this year and then transfer to Five Towns to become an audio recording technician. My intersts include playing drums, recording bands, tattoos, and spending time with my family and friends.

I'm currently trying to keep up with two jobs and a full time school schedule. My interests are cars, music, writing, and snowboarding.

What I would really love to do is own land to offer to terminally ill children to be taken on guided hunts. I love the Atlantic Ocean and hope to some day own a house on the water. I love playing all sports, photography, finding and watching funny viral videos, baking and I love surfing.

If all goes as planned I will be able to transfer to a four year college next fall, even though I still have no clue as to what I should pick for a major!

ReplyDeleteHey everyone, my name is Travis Holmes. I am going to college to pursue my doctorate in Pharmacy. I am a mix of Irish and German principally, which is the main factor in my hair color. For fun I snow and sandboard wherever I get a chance to do so, and I also like to read both murder mystery and fantasy novels. Lastly I am an assistant manager at a Co-op complex on Dune road in Westhampton Beach.

I am 20 years old and i hope to accomplish being a cia agent in the near future. For now however when i turn 21 i hope to be either a suffolk cop or New york city cop. i already have taken both test and scored a 92 on the city test. my suffolk score is unknown for the moment. Some of the activities i like to do is tennis and basketball. i am on the college tennis team. I also work at big lots in west babylon i have been there two years.

ReplyDelete1. I am a history education major, i want to be a history teacher, i dont have a particular favorite time in history to study.
2. I am a certified nerd,I know more about comic books then i think i do about half my classes, in particular thor comics are my favorite.
3. I play the saxaphone, im in the school's band and i play at my church sometimes.
4. My birthday is october 12th 1990, and we have class on my birthday this year, instead of cutting class to have an awesome day somewhere, i decided we should throw me a party. :) maybe?

I am a liberal arts major right now and can't wait to get out of Suffolk. Right now I live that good life on a golf course, and probably going to move down south after this semester is over.
